Maceió is located between the Mundaú Lagoon and the Atlantic Ocean. The history of this city retraces century XVIII, with the sprouting of a small device of sugar.

Its development started with the arrival of ships, that anchored in the port of the historical quarter of Jaraguá, important door of entrance for the local economy.
