Accomodation in Brazil is a difficult topic. You have to be aware that you can get a place very cheap, however in a poor and not safe area. So saving on accomodation cost would be definatly on the wrong end!  All our accomodations are in the best and safest parts of town!

We offer different accommodations:

In Malus Lodge House, in a host families, private apartments or hotels.

We always recommend our language students to stay the first month in Malus Lodge in Garca Torta. Malu is our school coordinator, Portuguese teacher. We have six nice and new renovated room with private bathroom in Malus house just 2 minutes away from a wonderful beach. Our Portuguese classes and school rooms are also on Malus property. Malu is a doctor from Sao Paulo who decided to move to the Northeast of Maceio and enjoy life outside the big hectical city.The house is just renovated. Malu prepares the breakfast (coffee, tea, milk, bread, butter, jam & some fruits) and lunch from Sunday to Saturday. She enjoys the meals together with the students to get to know different cultures and to help with the Portuguese. The students can use all of the facilties of her house like kitchen, there is a community room, huge and beautiful garden and of course there is wireless internet.
The Garça Torta´s beach is just a few blocks away from the lodge. In the neighborhood there are some nice bars and restaurants. The neighborhood is very safe. People are kind and hospitably and can help you to improve your Portuguese. There is a bus stop right in front of the house which takes you anywhere and also taxis to Maceió downtown at low cost. 

Another good option is staying in a host family. Having the opportunity to live with a Brazilian family will give you a totally different learning experience and will help improving your Portuguese a lot. They are all lovely families and very hospitably. They will provide a room with all meals included if you prefer, or just breakfast and dinner. All the houses of the families are in a safe and good neighborhoods, close to the school. Students often develop deep friendships with their "Brazilian" family. 

If you prefer more privacy and independent lifestye, the other option would be a proper apartment. They are located in good, safe areas, close to the school and the beach. They provide all the necessary furnishings and some of them have internet access.
